A cultural exchange you live,
not a conference you sit through.

Whirling dervishes performing in white robes in front of a historic building

Heritage, in person

Walk through the sites that shaped the host country and hear the stories behind them.

Culture you take part in

Workshops and performances where you join in, and share something from home.

Conversations that last

Honest dialogue with peers from many countries, and friendships that outlast the four days.

Why Istanbul?

Few cities hold so many cultures in one place. For four days, Istanbul becomes your classroom, your stage and your meeting point.

Two continents, one city

Istanbul sits on both Europe and Asia, divided by the Bosphorus strait: the meeting point at the heart of YACE.

Centuries of history

Once capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, with a historic peninsula listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A culture you can taste

Tea on every corner, centuries-old bazaars, and music and food shaped by many regions.

Easy to reach

A major international flight hub. Many nationalities can enter visa-free or with an e-Visa, and YACE supports others with an invitation letter.

What the four days look like

  1. Day 1

    Arrive and meet

Check in, meet your group and settle into the city at a welcome evening.

  2. Day 2

    Heritage day

A full day exploring the host city’s landmark heritage sites.

  3. Day 3

    Dialogue & certification

Open conversations on the questions your generation shares, followed by the certification ceremony.

  4. Day 4

    Check-out

Breakfast and goodbyes as delegates check out of the hotels and head home.

Before you apply

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No. There is no English test requirement, and applicants of every nationality are welcome.

What is the €14.99 application fee?

A one-time fee that covers the review of your scholarship application. Our Refund Policy explains when it can be refunded.

What does fully funded cover?

Accommodation, meals, the full programme and selected travel costs, for the 30 participants chosen for full funding.

Can YACE help with my visa?

Yes. Every scholarship and package includes an official visa invitation letter, and the Reservation Pass adds full visa support while you wait for your decision. The final decision always rests with the embassy.

Do I need previous experience?

No. Curiosity and respect for other cultures matter more than a long CV.

Is this a conference?

Only partly. Most of the programme happens outside the hall: at heritage sites, in workshops and on stage at culture night.
